BIOGRAPHY

Clarence Au-Young founded Au-Young Consulting (AYC) to provide excellence in business operations for companies of all sizes. Clarence has over 30 years in management and hands-on experience with public and privately held companies, in operations, program management, strategic planning, merger and acquisition, merger integration, divesture, pricing and contract negotiation, and financial management. His experience spans across Commercial and Military Aviation, Space, and Petroleum refinery industries.

Prior to Au-Young Consulting, Clarence worked with Zodiac Aerospace as president of a $500M multi-site business, VP of Program Management with Arrowhead Products, VP of Business Operations with Crane Aerospace, VP of Business Division and Director of Strategic Planning & M&A with Honeywell International, and Project Manager with C. F. Braun. 

Some of Clarence Au-Young’s professional highlights include:

  • Renegotiated pricing to turn program with $180M losing contract to a $225M profitable program

  • Led Strategic Plan for $10B business to grow company at 15% with momentum growth and acquisition growth

  • Led acquisition of $230M Lighting business in Ohio and $50K Aerospace business in the UK

  • Led merger integration at two UK facilities. Materialized $30M operational synergy.

  • Divested $50M business identified as non-synergistic to core business as part of strategic planning

  • Improved operations from 30% to >90% on-time-delivery

  • Built-up manufacturing operations in China and Mexico. Implemented lean production cells and improved cost by 50%.

  • Turned around development programs that were 2 years behind in schedule with customer threatening contract termination. Led programs back to schedule within 9 months. Successfully transitioned to production.


Mr. Au-Young earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Structure from Lehigh University, Master of Science in Control Systems from California State University, and an MBA from University of Southern California.
